Studio 1887, located at 126 Pine St in Green Bay, Wi, boasts multiple natural light studio rooms with large, grand windows. Each room is unique, which allows photographers of all different aesthetics to serve their clients in one space.
This room in particular is my absolute favorite one to photograph clients in. The original brick from the 1887 building adds a beautiful, textured and moody back drop for clients looking to add a sense of timelessness and dimension to their images. The other walls are painted black, which honestly, I wasn’t too sure about at the beginning, BUT they have added interest to the corners of my images.
On a sunny morning, the warm light floods through the windows in the Brick room and Grand Room, creating gorgeous harsh shadows across the wood flooring. The Brick room has sheers to help as a filter, which creates a very dreamy and intimate vibe in photographs. The only down-side of this gorgeous room is that it is not very big… I won’t photograph more than 4 people in this space at one particular time.
Since moving to Wisconsin in 2024, I have shot multiple sessions at Studio 1887, and I recommend it to all of my photographer friends! I personally don’t always love photo studios, so this one really stands out above other local rentals. If you’re thinking about booking a photographer for a shoot here, be sure to choose one who knows the light (and how to get into the building- seriously, it ain’t easy, but it’s worth it!).
